Our Sweet Caroline!

Praise God!!!

I posted earlier wondering if we would hear something this week, never dreaming we'd be looking into the sweet face of our little Caroline this very day! My sister received her referral at around 4:30 this afternoon!! After much sobbing, bawling, and praise, here is what we know:
Caroline is only 9 months old! The most gorgeous little peanut!
She is in Guangdong Province!
She is wonderful, the most gorgeous little girl in China!

Love To All,
Jen
(A VERY Happy Auntie)

Could This Be The Week???

As many of you know, my sweet sister has been waiting for her referral from China for nearly a year. She is adopting through the Waiting Child Program of the same agency that we used for both of our adoptions.
They have a new list of Waiting Children, and she is "up to bat" so to speak, providing that this list has a child on it who meets their criteria! For those of you who have been through this process, you know exactly what an exciting, anxious, heart wrenching time this is. Will you please join me in praying over my sister and her family? Please pray that God will guide this process, and that they will find their daughter in His timing. Pray for peace for them, and for the financial provision they desperately need to bring this wonderful calling God has given them into fruition. As a waiting Auntie, I know I'm not feeling a fraction of what my sister is right now. But as another adoptive Mommy, I've got a pretty good idea! I'm praying that this week will bring us very joyful news!

My sister reminded me of this video the other day (she was showing it to a friend), so I thought I'd post it on the blog. I'm not sure how great the quality will be and most of you have probably already seen it.

New Video!

I couldn't decide whether or not to post this video, because I thought it might seem as though I'm poking fun at Emma. I decided to post it, because anyone who knows Emma knows that she's incredibly bright . . . just not always very attentive. In this video, Emma's hood was blown off by the wind and she "lost" her hat in the bargain. Thank goodness for sisters!

Happy New Year!

On New Year's Eve, we went for a walk at Garden of the Gods. It was a freezing cold day, so our walk was short, but fun! We decided to brave the cold because frankly, we were so sick of being stuck in the house! Snow, colds, and strep throat for three of us have kept us housebound for some time. The kids were driving each other nuts and taking Joel and I along for the ride, so a day out was just the thing. Afterward, we went to a Chinese food buffet. Eli was thrilled, and the rest of us enjoyed it as well. The highlight of the meal came when Joel and the kids were enjoying authentic "chicken on a stick" or "chick-a-bob" as Emma dubbed them. Eli took a bite and signed that it was good. Then, he signed that it was cat meat. Then he reiterated how much he was enjoying the cat meat. Ack! Yikes! Since we had the same snack many times in China, and he knew it was chicken there, we decided that it must have been the amount of meat on the stick that threw him off. In China, there was usually alot more stick than chicken. The Chinese Buffet was more liberal with the chicken . . . because it couldn't have been cat . . . right?

I hope your New Year is blessed!

Love,
Jen
